About
National Geographic named Westwater Canyon “The West’s Best Short Whitewater Trip.” Day one begins with the towering black cliffs and exhilarating waves of Westwater Canyon. After a peaceful night camped in the spectacular Fisher Tower Valley, you’ll enjoy the laid-back, splashy rapids of the Moab “Daily.” This popular section of the Colorado River borders Arches National Park and is surrounded by spectacular red canyon walls, mesas, lush river bottoms, and historic ranch sites. What to Expect
DAY 1: Guests meet at 7:00 am at our office at 625 Riversands Road, where you can park your car at our enclosed property. Once you are checked in and your car is secure, we recommend you leave your car keys behind in our office so they don’t take a swim if you do. After everyone has arrived, you’ll load into comfortable vans and leave Moab around 7:30 am. Driving to the Westwater Ranger Station launch site takes approximately 1.5 hours. Your trip leader and guides will then give an orientation on river safety and load everything up to get underway. The rest of the day will be filled with exciting rapids, sightseeing, swimming, and relaxing, with a savory picnic lunch served riverside around noon. You will arrive at the takeout around 4:00 pm for a short drive to the night’s camp in view of the famous red rock Fisher Towers. A scrumptious dinner will be served around 6:30 pm and the evening activities might include star gazing, visiting around a campfire, or retiring early to dream of dancing waves.
DAY 2: After a hearty breakfast, you’ll spend the day floating through the majestic Fisher Towers and Castle Valley section of the Colorado River. These red rock mesas and brushy valleys were made famous by “Old West” movies, many starring John Wayne. You’ll have the option to run today’s rapids in inflatable kayaks while the larger rafts you used in Westwater Canyon carry gear and anyone who just wants to relax on the bigger boats. Leisurely floating, swimming and water fighting will fill up the rest of the morning and leave you hungry for lunch. Once you’ve finished the last crumbs of your tasty meal, a 20 minute ride to Moab will have you back at your car by 3:00 pm.

Policies and Agreement
Points to Remember
Liability Waiver Form: While Raft Moab, Inc. DBA World Wide River Expeditions takes great care when it comes to passenger safety, whitewater rafting has some inherent risks. Each participant will be required to sign an acknowledgment of risk form before participating. Parents must sign with minor children. Printed paper waivers are preferred for large youth group trips due to the difficulty of making changes in the online registration system. When printing the waiver form be sure to check the "fit to printable area" mark on the printer so it prints correctly. Please send the forms to our office at least 30 days before your trip date. Forms that are not printed correctly will not be accepted. While small family groups and some trips can fill out the online guest information and waiver forms online, it is not available for large groups to fill it out online.
Boats and Safety Equipment Provided: A Type V personal flotation device (lifejacket) is supplied and must be worn by all participants while on the river. We also recommend them when floating in the river from camp. Per Utah state law a Type V PFD that states on the label it is designed for commercial use, is required for all passengers traveling with a commercial outfitter. All watercrafts are also provided, including oar and paddle rafts and inflatable kayaks on some trips. We do not allow guests to wear their own lifejackets or bring their own watercraft on our trips.
Dietary Needs: A menu is provided in the trip documents. We do not make substitutions to our menu based on dietary needs but will make adjustments in preparation in the case of documented extreme allergies. Please let us know ahead of time by email of any food allergies and then remind the guides as they start to fix the meal so adjustments can be made to the food preparation (i.e. keeping croutons out of the salad, providing a vegetarian sauce, keeping peanut butter off the serving table until the participant has gone through). If the allergy is severe other precautions will be taken. Any participant with a food allergy, sensitivity, or dietary requirements are welcome to bring any items to supplement what we are providing in their own food containers. In the case of extreme allergies with anaphylactic reaction, participants need to provide their own epi pen.
Fitness to Participate: We ask that all participants verify they have sufficient skill and fitness to participate and have no medical, mental, or physical conditions that would interfere. Guests showing symptoms of any illness please refrain from participating.Westwater Cancellation Policy
