The Majestic Canyons of the Green River
(4 or 5 Day Trip)
A great family trip on the best moderate Class III river
Majestic Canyons of the Green River, 4- and 5-day expeditions
The setting for our Green River rafting trip is a territory once frequented by outlaws, homesteaders, trappers and bands of roving Indians (see map). This river corridor, just outside of Moab, Utah, was actually part of the infamous Outlaw Trail, stretching from Canada to Mexico. During the 1890s, Butch Cassidy and members of his "Wild Bunch" traveled from ranch to ranch along the river, occasionally working as ranch hands and on special occasions trading their jaded horses for fresh ones to make their escape just one more time.
The Green River is a journey of 84 miles and encompasses over 50 rapids, which increase in size as the trip progresses down river. It is an ideal place for individuals and families who want to participate in their trip through the use of paddle rafts and inflatable kayaks. Unparalleled in its scenic beauty, the canyon offers numerous photographic moments, and daily opportunities to visit and explore abandoned river boats, homesteads, and archaeological sites. The trip begins in Moab, Utah with a scenic charter flight across the Tavaputs Plateau.
Added Value:
No extra charge for camping equipment, inflatable kayaks, or scenic flight to the put-in; it's all included.
